1 Information We Collect

Voice and Audio Data

To provide dictation, the app accesses your device's microphone to capture audio when (and only when) you tap the microphone button. This audio is converted into text using a third-party AI service. See Section 2 for details.

Typed Text (Pro Only, Optional — AI Ghost-Editor)

The AI ghost-editor is a Pro-tier feature. If you are a Pro subscriber and you turn it on in the app's Autocorrect settings ("I type like a drunk toddler"), short windows of recently typed text are sent through our Cloudflare AI Gateway so the model can correct typos that the on-device autocorrect cannot catch. This feature is off by default and the keyboard works fully without it.

Before any typed text leaves your device, every digit (0–9) is replaced with a placeholder character. The AI model sees a placeholder where each digit was, and the original digits are restored on-device after the response arrives. This means credit-card numbers, phone numbers, street-address numbers, ZIP codes, verification codes, and other number-shaped data never reach the AI service.

Device Information

We do not run any servers ourselves, so we do not directly collect any information about your device. Apple's App Store may collect aggregate, non-personally-identifiable analytics about device models and OS versions on which the app is installed; this is governed by Apple's privacy policy and is not under our control. We do not collect your name, email, advertising identifier, or location.

2 How Your Data is Processed (AI Services)

The app uses local processing whenever possible. Built-in iOS dictation and the optional Parakeet model transcribe on your device. Pro cloud dictation, Pro AI rewrite styles, and the optional AI ghost-editor route through our managed Cloudflare Worker and Cloudflare AI Gateway. We do not operate a database server that stores or retains your audio, transcripts, or typed text.

Voice Transcription

When you use local dictation, your audio is processed on your iPhone by Apple's Speech framework or the downloaded Parakeet model. When you select Pro cloud dictation, your audio data is sent over an encrypted HTTPS connection (TLS 1.2 or higher) through our Cloudflare Worker and Cloudflare AI Gateway to Cloudflare Workers AI for transcription.

AI Ghost-Editor (Pro Only, Optional)

If you are a Pro subscriber and you enable the AI ghost-editor in the app, short windows of recently typed text — with all digits replaced by a placeholder character so numbers never leave your device — are sent through our Cloudflare AI Gateway to Cloudflare Workers AI (Llama 3.1-8b-instruct) over an encrypted HTTPS connection. The returned corrections are applied on-device. The feature only fires after a brief typing pause or a paragraph break, never on every keystroke, and is fully optional. The AI ghost-editor is not available on the free tier.

Non-Retention

Per our integration with Cloudflare, audio, typed-text snippets, and resulting text prompts are used solely to perform the service. They are not used to train AI models and are not retained by the provider after processing is complete. Cloudflare's data handling practices are described in its Privacy Policy.

Local Processing

We do not store your audio files, typed text, or transcripts on our own servers. Autocorrect, word prediction, learned words, text expansions, Apple on-device dictation, and Parakeet dictation all run on your device. When the network is unavailable, cloud dictation is unavailable and local dictation paths can continue without sending audio off-device. The AI ghost-editor sends typed text off-device only when you (a) are a Pro subscriber and (b) explicitly enable it.

Older App Versions

Current versions of the app route all cloud processing through our Cloudflare gateway, as described above. Earlier versions of the app used a different third-party AI provider (Groq, Inc.) for cloud transcription and cleanup. If you have not updated to the latest version, your cloud requests may still be served by that earlier provider until you update. We recommend keeping the app up to date so your data is handled under the practices described here.

3 Subscription Billing

The optional Pro subscription is billed through Apple Inc. via the App Store. We do not see, collect, or store your payment method, credit card number, billing address, or any other financial information. Apple notifies us only of your current entitlement (whether your subscription is active or not) using anonymous, on-device receipts; we do not link this status to your name, email, or any identifier we choose ourselves.

You can review, manage, change, and cancel your subscription at any time in your Apple ID account settings. Apple's privacy practices for in-app purchases are described in Apple's Privacy Policy.

4 Data Sharing and Disclosure

We do not sell, trade, or rent your personal information to third parties. We share data only with Cloudflare, Inc. as a technical necessity to provide the app's cloud voice-transcription and AI features, and with Apple Inc. for subscription billing.

We may disclose information only if required by law to comply with a legal obligation, but as a practical matter we have very little information to disclose — we do not retain or store your audio, transcripts, or typed text on any server of our own.

5 GIF Search (KLIPY)

MyAIDictation includes an optional GIF search feature powered by KLIPY (KIKLIKO, Inc.), a third-party GIF provider. This feature is turned off by default and only becomes active if you choose to enable it in the app's Settings.

When you enable and use GIF search, the text you type into the GIF search box and your device's network information (your IP address) are transmitted to KLIPY so it can return matching GIFs. MyAIDictation does not itself store or collect this data.

KLIPY may log this information and, if it displays sponsored GIFs, may use advertising identifiers, under its own privacy policy. Pro subscribers use an ad-free KLIPY tier. GIF results are content-filtered to PG-13.

6 Your Choices and Permissions

Consent to Voice Transcription

Before any audio is sent off-device, MyAIDictation shows you a full disclosure screen and asks for your explicit permission. You can revoke this consent at any time from the Privacy & Data Sharing section in the app — voice transcription will then be disabled until you re-consent.

AI Ghost-Editor Opt-In

The AI ghost-editor is a Pro-only feature and is disabled by default. After upgrading, it only sends typed text off-device after you toggle it on in the app's Autocorrect settings ("I type like a drunk toddler"). You can switch it off at any time from the same screen, and your keyboard will continue to work normally using only on-device autocorrect.

Microphone Access

You must grant the app permission to use the microphone. You can revoke this permission at any time in iOS Settings, though the dictation feature will cease to function.

Data Deletion

Since we do not store your personal data or transcripts on our servers, there is no "account data" to delete. Any text generated is stored locally on your device. Deleting the app removes everything we ever knew about you.

7 Children's Privacy

We do not knowingly collect personal information from children, or anyone else for that matter.
